What is my favorite exercise for individuals who don’t tolerate the impact of traditional jumping and hopping? Skipping! Skipping is easy on the joints but uses a powerful hip extension which helps walking gait. Other drills that work on multi-directional stepping (crossing over, lunging, and lateral stepping) are also super beneficial and should be implemented immediately.
Many of you see me with clients walking sideways with bands and silly-looking step-ups…not so silly after all! 😊
