Fit Tip of the Week: |
|
For fat loss, it is simple science. Eat to lose fat. Train to build muscle. Add a bit of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to help increase your metabolism. Long cardio isn’t really needed unless you get down to very low body fat percentages. (*note - intervals could be modified jumping jacks, not sprints. Cardio exercise doesn’t mean only running or biking!) |

Tennis Fitness: |

Tennis Elbow! Elbow pain is a reality and varies in degree. This pain is the result of repetitive stress to your elbow joint; usually, at intensities your elbows are not yet ready to endure.
So how can we begin to fix it?
Check upstream. When your shoulder lacks strength and/or mobility, this places extra stress on your elbow joint, causing it to be enraged with anger! Once your chest, upper back, shoulders, biceps, and triceps get on the same page, the pain will subside. Now, this is not a quick fix. It took time to wear your joints down, and it’s going to take time to build them back up. With a little physical preparation to these few areas, we can get rid of OR prevent elbow pain altogether. |

Golf Fit Tip of the Week: |
|
Train all planes! One of the most crucial things is the importance of training your body in multiple planes of motion. Make sure you work in exercises that function in the frontal plane (moving to and from the body midline - i.e. jumping jacks), the sagittal plane (flexion and extension - i.e. sit ups), and the transverse plane (rotational - i.e. cable twists). |

What caught my attention the week: |

“F-E-A-R” has two meanings: Forget Everything And Run or Face Everything And Rise.
The choice is yours. |

Please Welcome Brent and Anjelica Yoder!
Physical Therapy
Brent and Anjelica’s passion is to make an impact, not only in their patient’s lives but also in their community. Their sole focus is providing exceptional care to all in need, putting client’s goals and desires first, and most importantly, giving back to the local community. Their mission is to keep Sarasota healthy, mobile, and pain-free, one person at a time.
“Brent and Anjelica graduated from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences with their Doctorate in Physical Therapy. They got married shortly after and moved to beautiful California to pursue travel physical therapy. After working in multiple physical therapy settings and sightseeing all over California, they returned back home to Sarasota. Not too long after moving back home, they took the challenge to create their path - a physical therapy path focusing on providing elite service, exceptional care in a personable warm, and friendly environment without the limitations of insurance guidelines. We work for YOU, not insurance companies.”
We are excited to not only offer Physical (performance) Therapy services but to have such a wonderful team with these two awesome individuals. Their passion for people can be felt immediately, and they are a great asset to us here at The Oaks Club. |
