Keypad entry system: We are extremely happy to be able to bring this to you soon! We are in the final stages of quotes and choosing our company, so the ball has been rolling and only speeding up. Why are we excited about a keypad entry system?
- Extended hours of operation: we will be open earlier AND later to accommodate more of the membership’s busy schedules;
- Enhanced security to manage who can enter the building and when;
- Allows our front desk staff to help you further with class scheduling, spa scheduling, and daily tasks around the WellFit Center;
In preparation for this change, we will begin having longer stretches of unstaffed hours in the WellFit Center, on the weekends only. During our busiest times (i.e., Saturday mornings with classes and massages), we will absolutely be staffed. During our mid-afternoon hours is where you will see gaps in staff, first.
Our expectations remain the same while staffed and unstaffed - we will ensure cleanliness, stocked towels, music, and TVs on. We continue to ask you to work out responsibly, report anything that needs to be reported, and enjoy your workout! I will keep you updated on a weekly basis about this topic. |

What are you willing to not be good at?
Self improvement should be uncomfortable at times. Trying stretch class, pilates reformer, cycling, or bench pressing after a couple of years are a few examples. Progress starts with one small, uncomfortable step. There is no time, like the present. Try something new….NOW! |

Have you tried Zumba? Have you tried OUR Zumba with Lynne??! If not, Saturday’s at 9:00 a.m. is where you need to be. Zumba is a joyous, upbeat, feel-good class that also….burns LOTS of calories! |

“Eat your Veggies”
As a health coach, I get the question all the time, “What is one thing I can do weekly to really impact my health? “My answer is always, “Eat more fruits and veggies, lots of them.” If you feel sluggish, tired, and not as mentally sharp as you used to, your diet may be to blame.
If you take the analogy “You are what you eat” to heart, then you should endeavor to be a fruit or veggie. Nature gave us these power-packed foods for our protection, and they are full of important micronutrients.
Remember the phrase, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away?” In a world of pre-packaged and processed foods, we have often traded nutrient-dense healing foods like an apple, for what is perceived as healthy and convenient in a protein bar or the next fad shake. As a health coach, I talk to families and individuals about eating mostly unprocessed, nutrient-dense foods that are free from preservatives and chemicals as often as possible.
Why fruits and veggies are so nutritious:
Leafy green vegetables and colorful fruits are packed with something called phytonutrients. These nutrients provide an array of vitamins, including Vitamins A, B, C, K, and E, and they are rich in potassium, iron, magnesium, and calcium.
How the body benefits from fruits and vegetables:
Antioxidants are correlated with reduced inflammation. Reducing inflammation is key to our overall preventative health measures. Fruits and vegetables help to lower the risk of heart disease by lowering cholesterol levels and slowing cellular degeneration. Understanding the power fruits and veggies have on your ability to create better health will make wanting to get more and more on your plate a daily priority. Do yourself a favor and fill ½ your plate with them at dinner.
