We are excited to share that the OWGA signature shotgun events will once again be hosted with committees to make these games memorable times with OWGA friends. Look forward to registering for Opening Day Halloween Scramble, Old Pal, Member/Member, Par-Tee, and Closing Day Scramble. Two additional shotguns have been added to the regular Tuesday play. When registering for these games, you are also registering to join the member-paid luncheon that follows. The calendar includes an afternoon shotgun, and OWGA/OMGA Mixer hosted this year by the OMGA on February 5 and the Ladies Invitational, a two-day club-sponsored shotgun event for February 25 & 26. We have OWGA member mixers planned for Tuesday, November 19, and Tuesday, March 11. Please plan to join fellow members for these great golf and social events.
Your enthusiasm and support for our inaugural League season this year was outstanding.
More than two-thirds of the members of the club participated in the League this year. With overwhelmingly positive feedback from our League Captains and Co-Captains on our League, we have expanded the League Play to eight games; the first is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, and the last will be on April 1, followed by Play-Offs on April 15. A second recommendation is registration for the League. The upcoming season continues without a registration fee. This will be evaluated again in the following seasons as the League continues to evolve. We hope that those who enjoyed the League this year “re-up” and encourage others to come out for League play. You will receive an email from the Golf Pro Shop inviting you to register for the League for next season.
With League registration completed, hopefully by mid-July, and using our benchmark report on participation this year, the Board will work with the Golf Pro Shop to determine the number of teams and team assignments. We want to get teams connected as soon as possible and start the excitement for the season.
